Yiddish for Intermediate Students II

Starts January 12th, Wednesdays 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. PST (12:00 p.m. EST, 6:00 p.m. in most of Europe, 7:00 p.m. in Israel), ends March 16.

Tuition:

$270 all 10 weeks or $30 for a 90 minute online class.

Taught by Katya Kuznetsova 

Ekaterina Kuznetsova was born in Moscow. There she studied Literature, Pedagogics, and Religious Studies. In 2016 she graduated from the MA program in Yiddish Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She researched the history of translations from Yiddish as well as intercultural connections in Yiddish literature. Her articles are published in Russian, Polish, Yiddish, and English. She currently lives in Berlin, where she co-founded the initiative Yiddish.Berlin – a group of artists and activists that organizes cultural events involving Yiddish literature and culture. She is a regular contributor to In Geveb journal.

Description:

In this course taught mainly in Yiddish, you will build on the grammatical knowledge acquired while attending YAAANA’s Intermediate I Yiddish class series or a similar Yiddish course. This class is for experienced learners who want to deepen and enrich their knowledge of the language. Each class will have time dedicated to conversation, reading, and grammar. We will review basics and learn advanced grammar topics such as periphrastic verbs, conditional mood, passive tense, momentary aspect of verbs, complex syntax, and more.
